Parent Action Committee for Education (PACE)
PACE organization was formed in 2004 by Parents of CABPES students.
The Mission of PACE:
To integrate the talents and resources of parents, community groups and area schools, to strengthen the readiness of historically under represented minority students (African-American, Hispanic, and Native American) to pursue science, engineering, mathematics and technical fields.
PACE operates much like the public schools' Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO). Parents wanted something do while they waited for their students during class. Parents instinctively got involved to help grow the program and to assist in mentoring, tutoring and providing resources for education, parent skill development and college planning.
PACE has organized the CABPES' holiday party and the Black History Month Celebration and Special Program.
PACE volunteers also assist on class nights signing students in, monitoring classrooms, and preparing snacks. They have provided volunteers for special programs, helped with mailings and assisted with planning the CABPES Annual Awards Banquet.
