CABPES provides assistance with college preparation including a class to help students prepare for the SAT and ACT college entrance exams. This program is an important element of the CABPES youth educational support program. The course is based upon College Board and Princeton Review (the test makers) recommendations and utilizes their teaching materials, test taking tips and practices tests.
This course familiarizes students with:
What is measured by the SAT/ACT
The structure of the tests
Test taking tips to enhance performance
Major concepts of the SAT/ACT
Strategies for each section of both tests
The course includes English, Math, Reading, Science and Essay Writing, SAT/ACT preparation. Also, the course covers completing a student College Portfolio (application packet), scholarships and features college-related guest speakers.
