One powerful way to do this is through hands-on experiences, and nothing beats the impact of STEM-based field trips. They provide students with a real-world context for the concepts they learn in CABPES classroom-based programs, fostering a deeper understanding and a genuine passion for these subjects.
Each year, CABPES offers six STEM-based field trips to our students. These field trips take students around the state of Colorado. CABPES field trip experiences inspire creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, setting the stage for future success in the ever-evolving world of STEM. For a grass-roots nonprofit organization like CABPES, providing access to these invaluable learning opportunities can be limited due to the impact on the organization from transportation costs, the cost of providing meals to students during field trips, staff time, and planning time. Each year, CABPES spends on average $30,000 on field trip-associated costs.
That’s why we’re asking you to support the continuation of these field trips for our students. This Colorado Gives season, our goal is clear: to raise $30,000 to help ensure a successful 2024 field trip series. This ambitious target will ensure that every student, regardless of their economic background, has the opportunity to participate in these transformative experiences.
